The challenge was to create a series that could combine a coherent message and visuals for the Asteroid Day theme, to give a singular meaning to each stamp and specific subject for the next 3 years (2022/2023/2024). We looked for a common denominator, both in the message and in the graphics (see below). The combination of the two letters "A" and "D" summarises the general theme of Asteroid Day and the three topics: Defense, Discovery, Driven Ressources. The approach was therefore to create a visual identity with a typographic play from these two elements which can be variable and evolve according to the meaning we want to give them. The form of these two letters are inspired by the simplified shape of an asteroid (see below).
